19th Year Anniversry Celebration of Evangelist D. J. Renee and May Weekend Gospel Festival 2010
This was a great celebration. Even though I planned it one way God stepped in and worked it another way. I do believe that he took control. First of all Leomia Boyd and Praise didn’t get to make it and several other groups that were scheduled didn't make it due to the weather conditions but others pressed their way through the bad weather. I'm very grateful for the love that was shown. Also, there were those that sent money to support the celebration but could not attend.
Now Friday, April 23, 2010 my Pastor Dr. Samuel C. Brown rendered a blessed message from on high. My theme was "Kingdom Faith" and he really talked about faith and it's operation. Of course he went to Hebrews 11:1. His two churches combined praise team came with him and they really blessed the Lord in song. Sister Justina Williams sing so sweet, The Pitts Boys and Company really sing, The Young Men In Christ really sing, and Leo Walls and The God's Spirit really sing. The program that night was really good short and sweet.
Now, it's Saturday, May 1, 2010 and it's really cloudy and I'm getting calls about the weather and if we are going to still have the celebration in the park. My response yes, we are going to be under the basketball court and if we have to we will go over to the Museum Dinner Theatre. However, the rainy weather kept some of the artist away, but it didn't keep God away He was there and He blessed real good. Our speaker Pastor Michael Jackson had a powerful message and there were some young people there that needed to hear the message. He had a testimony with his message. He also sings and he sing 3 songs and preached. His subject was "Do You Have A Retired Me Plan" and he workded it, you just had to be there. Our special guest The New Young Christian Travelers of Monticello, Ms. for the park sing really well. Me and some of my friends that attended dance a while and yes the rain eventually came down but we didn't have to worry we were under the basketball court and Jesus was on there too like he was on the ship with the disciples somebody better here me. Also, in the park was a new gospel group "Realistic and Biblical" of Hammond, La. The two groups and Pastor Michael Jackson really enjoyed one another and connections were made for future engagements. We served our guest red beans/rice, green salad, and Chili Dogs. We just had a blast.
It's Saturday night and it isn’t over yet. We are at the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum Dinner Theatre the Anointed Voices of Brookhaven< Ms. made their way through the unpleasant weather and they blessed the Lord, LaShunda Smith and Eric Nunnery blessed the name of the Lord, The Bester Singers made their way through the not so pleasant weather and really blessed the Lord, and last but not least the Jr. High Lights and The Tears of Joy blessed the Lord.
Well, It’s Sunday, May 2, 2010 and the final day of the blessed 19th Year Celebration. It is on it’s raining a little here and there but God’s program must go on. It was a great celebration going on in Hammond, La. I really danced along with my friends that attended the victory party. The Gospel Creators of Merreo/New Orleans, La. hook-up for the event and some of there members did the devotion and they were the first group to sing and by the way they had to travel an hour to be with me in the unpleasant weather. The father of the Wimberly family did one song and it was a good one. Evangelist Linda Wright of the House of Blues and a member of the Gospel Creators was our M. C. and she was great. Now it’s time to call one of our special guest The Harvey Spirituals of Harvey/New Orleans, La. and they were in the house for real. Our other special guest were part of the Quartet Central family and they were well received on their first appearance in Hammond, La. They sold a lot of cd’s and they really blessed the Lord in songs of praise. We look forward to their return to Hammond, La. In 2011 if God allows it. The Wimberly family short in members took the flood with the help of other New Orleans, La. group and rocked the house on two songs. Now unexpected Everret Sanders of friends Gospel Singers of New Orleans, La. did three songs and rocked the house for real. I even got on the mic and sing a little now that was something to see (Smile) we just had a glorious time in the Lord. LaShunda Smith sing a song and she did a beautiful job. Well, last but not least the Undertakers of Natchez, Ms. take the floor and really bless the house. The people are already asking for their return. We had a good old fashion Holy Ghost time in the Lord.
I planned the celebration one way but God took control and worked it His way. He allowed me to have just what and who I needed for my 19th Year Anniversary Celebrtion and May Weekend Gospel Festival 2010 and the best is yet to come. I would like to thank all of my Quartet Central family that prayed for this celebration and it’s success. I would like to thank Dwayne Watkins Band and Bob Holloway and The Southern Sons for the sponsorship they gave and individual friends and businesses from far and near.
